Pleasantly surprised by this book! Loved it!
“I won this little gem of a book in a giveaway a couple months ago. I finally got around to reading it and I was very pleasantly surprised! I love it when that happens! The story is moving and I feel a lot like Sara, the main character, does right now. I recently lost a parent and I couldn’t imagine losing both parents, like Sara has, at a young age. The book isn’t overly sad since the story basically starts when she decides that nothing is left for her in Chicago (where she is from) and heads to The Outer Banks of North Carolina to get away, and clear her head. Being a North Carolinian myself, this was another reason I connected so well with this book. Anyways, Sara’s situation is quite humorous when she arrives in NC. She wasn’t expecting to find love in NC, but the guy she meets takes her by surprise. I will definitely be reading more from this author. I loved her style and felt really connected to the characters. Well done!”

Maria Bernard’s stories are always captivating, like modern day fairy tales. Wherever Girl is a sweet and melancholy love story that proves that not only do opposites attract, they also complete one another. Life is a cycle of endings and beginnings, sorrow and joy, growth and change, and Maria Bernard illustrates that beautifully in this story.

Maria writes such sweet love stories and this new one is fabulous. I love the location, the Outer Banks, it has a wistful and charming feel. Skylar meets Sara when she is his first guest at his newly opened bed and breakfast. She is trying to find peace after losing both her parents recently. As an only child, Sara feels like she is alone in the world. Skylar also lost his parents 8 years previous and is an only child. He is a gorgeous surfer and rocker and Sara is smitten. A few days of spending time together and Skylar knows she is the one. Sara is sceptical and suspicious of his sudden fondness for her. His friends are wonderful and she does enjoy the days they spend sightseeing and the evenings they spend together. Sara falls for Skylar also, he is so thoughtful and sweet. A few twists and turns and love is declared by both. A brilliant book from a great author.
