Character Development

Maria Bernard House of Goths

Character Development — the task of creating a character and building on them (working out appearance, history, mannerisms and so on,) OR the changes a character undergoes during the course of a story.

*Reviews are important even if they’re not positive. The negative comments make an author question themselves and their work. In this case I’m referring to a not-so-positive critique of House of Goths regarding lack of Character Development.

Maybe being the author, I am blind to certain things such as this because even though I know my characters very well, this doesn’t mean I’ve done a good enough job translating their traits into the story.

Is this the case with Becky, Kelley, Crispin, Dorian and/or Keegan? Have I left you wanting?
